ALMOST DONE!!

Now press '0' on the num pad and move to frame 250.

Select the UNIVERSAL text and hold 'Shift' then press 's'.

Click Cur->Sel.

Now position the cursor at the bottom left of the earth.

We need to add a little text that says AN MCA COMPANY and a little Registered mark.

You can make the R with a circle around it by pressing 'Alt' and 'r'.  :-)

Alright!  The hard part is all done.  All we have to do is add some textures and that will not take long.

Here are the texture files you need (just right click and save):

Earth

Star Field

Start with the earth.

Click the Material button and add a new material.

Click the Texture button and add a new texture.

Load the earth texture image.

Just make your material settings like mine.  The items circled are things you have to adjust or buttons you have to click. (it doesn't get any easier than this :P)

Click Material button.

I know there are better ways to do a much more realistic Earth but that is a whole 'nuther tutorial.  This one looks good enough for our purposes.

Now select the UNIVERSAL text.

Click Material button and add new material.

Click Texture button.

Choose these settings:

Click Material button.

Choose these settings:

(This is going to be a really nice reflective gold effect.)

Now click the World button.  Its a little button that looks like Earth.  The World buttons set the backdrop of your virtual world.  This is how you add the star field.

Add a new World.

Click the Texture buttons (DO NOT click Material button or you will have to again click World button then Texture button.  Otherwise you will be modifying the Material of one of your objects and not the World.  You don't add Materials for the World, just Texture.  That should save you some serious headaches ;-) )

Go back to the World buttons again.

Choose these settings:

The last thing to do is add a material to the AN MCA COMPANY and Circle R texts.  There is a catch here though because we don't want to see those until the end of the animation (frame 250).

Select the AN MCA COMPANY text.

Add a new material.  We don't need a texture for this one.

GOTO FRAME 1 and set the material like this:

The important setting to note is the Alpha setting.  Set it to 0.000.  Also make sure to click the ZTransp button even though my picture does not show it pressed.  This will make the text transparent at frame 1.

We also have to insert a key for the Alpha value.  Be sure you are at Frame 1 and also put the mouse over the word Alpha.

Press 'i'.

Click 'Alpha' on the pop up menu.

Goto Frame 250 and add another key for the Alpha value, don't change the value yet though!  It should still be at 0.000.

Goto Frame 270 and change the Alpha value to 1.000.  Insert another key for the Alpha value.

Select the Circle R text and give it the same material as the AN MCA COMPANY text.  You dont have to do anything with the Alpha value because it will inherit the IPOs.

Hard to believe but you are finally done!  Now go animate this thing!  Here is the Universal Fanfare wav file so you can rock to the beat.  That is the longest tutorial I have ever written and I know there are some mistakes in there so just email me when you find them.  Also, there are some details I left out like the lens flare at the beginning of the animation.  Try to figure out how I did it.  It's really not as hard as it looks...
